Linh Ân Shelter House

Life is priceless!

To be alive is a blessing.

Indeed, it is the universal desire to lead a life as happy and fulfilling as one envisions. Yet, not everyone is granted the privilege of making choices that truly align with their own wishes. Some are born into happy homes, overflowing with familial love; others are born into poverty, yet still have parents they can call their own; while there are also those who are born into this world without ever having the chance to utter the names of “Father” or “Mother” in the truest sense. Countless innocent children enter this world amidst the selfishness of adults—brought into existence solely for personal gain or fleeting pleasure, only to be cast aside like drops of their own blood.

Linh Ân shelter was established as a ministry of love, dedicated to receiving abandoned newborn orphans and children from families facing extreme hardship, as well as assisting destitute and homeless mothers by providing them with a sanctuary to carry their pregnancies to term and give birth. The founding of Linh Ân serves not merely a set of purposes; rather, deeply embedded within those objectives lie the core values of its mission. As human beings created in the image of God, we bear within ourselves the vocation to love and to be loved.

As Saint Pope John Paul II affirmed: “Man can only fully find himself through the selfless giving of himself.” Thus, it is in the hope of saving those tiny, pitiable, and innocent souls amidst the world of adults.

The missionary mandate impels the ICM Consecrated Person to kindle the spirit of Christ through their Spirituality. Through the Mystery of the Incarnation, the Consecrated Person discerns the light, the motivation, the strength, and the exemplar for their consecrated life (Hp 12). Consequently, the life of the Consecrated Person seeks to be molded after the example of the Divine Master—a life overflowing with love for all people (Hp 18)—He who excludes no one.

Linh Ân—sixteen years since its inception—represents a span of time that is far more than a mere numerical milestone; it is a period of profound significance and precious value. For it marks the beautiful moments when tiny souls first behold the light of day and utter their first cries of welcome into the world; it also opens new doors for mothers who have stumbled—including students whose youthful inexperience led to momentary lapses in judgment—enabling them to turn a new page in their lives. Countless generations have thus been granted the opportunity to reunite with their families and return to the warmth of their own homes. This happiness is, in truth, not merely a joy multiplied twofold, but a happiness that transcends all measure—a testament to the journey of the Linh Ân Social Protection Center and the countless benefactors who have joined hands to contribute, nurture, and share in this mission since its very inception.

The companionship, solidarity, and unwavering support of the Benefactors of the Divine Mission for the Poor, INC. have enabled the Institute of the Incarnation, Consecration, and Mission (ICM) to carry out its spiritual ministry at the Linh An Social Protection Center—providing both material and spiritual aid to ensure that the children under our care are nurtured and developed as holistically as possible. Indeed, “the most precious gift that human beings can offer one another is healing and kindness.”

May the love of Jesus Christ dwell within you and grant all our Benefactors peace, joy, and happiness in every moment of your lives.
